I have experience teaching, tutoring, and designing courses in physics and astronomy. I’ve also evaluated and mentored other graduate students in their teaching, and I’ve learned a lot from them. Most of my teaching experience is with undergraduate and graduate level physics and astrophysics, although I have done some outreach and teaching for more general science topics and for all age groups.
I want to redesign how people learn science, especially physics and astronomy. Too much of learning these days is passive. Watching lectures and reading books are fine, but a much more effective way to learn (especially for abstract concepts in science) is to interact with a simulation that is specifically designed to give an intuition for certain phenomena. I want to make materials and courses built around these simulations to teach physics in a more engaging and effective way.
